Art of Music
We were devastated to have to postpone Art of Music 2020 and then again Art of Music 2021 planned for 17 July 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions.
We will be back though and look forward to delivering a spectacular event on 18 September 2021.
Art of Music is one of the most sought-after fundraisers on the Sydney event calendar. The brainchild of Jenny Morris, Art of Music features visual and musical masterpieces created by Australia’s eminent visual and performing artists.
Held every two years, a select group of Australia’s top visual artists each create a unique artwork inspired by an iconic Australian/NZ song they have chosen to represent.
Each artwork is then auctioned at a glittering gala dinner accompanied by exclusive performances from the cream of Australian and NZ music industry.
The 2021 night promises to be spectacular with performances from Tim Minchin, Kate Ceberano, Ngaiire and PJ Harding.
We have secured some amazing artworks from Laura Jones, Robert Malherbe, Josh Yeldham, Nicholas Harding, Holly Greenwood, Guy Maesteri, Leila Jeffreys, Alex Seton and Tim Minchin’s fabulous “Airport Piano”.
And of course it is all for a fantastic cause – Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy (Noro).
For over two decades, Noro has been the exemplar and innovator in providing life-changing Music Therapy programs for people of all ages. We offer individual and group therapy from four clinic locations; and community-based programs at early learning, school, hospital and aged care facilities across the Sydney Metropolitan area.
Every week over 1,500 people access and benefit from our evidence-based programs, and we continue to expand our in-person and virtual services to support the growing number of people (from small children to adults over 100 years old) who rely on us to improve their quality of life.
As the need for therapies and clinics grows, the generosity and support of our event attendees and loyal supporters allows us to continue to develop important new programs such as the highly successful Guitars mental health initiative for veterans and volunteer firefighters.
