MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO

I would like to pass on the heartfelt thanks of our Board and my team for your generous support of Art of Music, and indeed, of Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy.

Art of Music has built a strong reputation for delivering a stunning night, uniquely bringing together great entertainment and amazing artworks to raise money for a most worthy cause.

Check out the video of Hudson 2 years on from the video we played on Saturday to give you a small insight into how amazing our therapists are and the impact they have: https://youtu.be/ZHT8GFzF_q0

Art of Music is critically important to us to raise the funds that enable us to continue to deliver and expand the work we do.  In the last two years since Art of Music 2016, we invested funds raised to achieve some pretty amazing outcomes:
  • We grew the number of people we see – 535 people a week in June 2016 to over 1,000 now - an impressive growth of 89%.
  • We increased our footprint - adding new clinics in the Penrith CBD, Annangrove and  Katoomba.
  • We employed more staff - we employed 5 full-time new grad interns, 2 full-time Music Therapists, an Accountant and 2 additional part-time music therapists
  • We introduced new programs - including “guitars for vets” a program to address PTSD in ex Military, Police and Ambulance populations – an extremely important and impactful program.
  • We expanded our outreach activities - adding Concord Hospital Palliative / Cancer Care, additional school, aged care facilities and adult disability program providers.
Of course an event like AOM doesn’t happen without effort, so a huge thank you to:
  • Jenny Morris for your vision and dedication to helping us deliver our life changing programs.
  • Our performers, Mark SeymourJulia Jacklin and Ainslie Wills
  • The artists Ben Quilty, Cressida Campbell, Guy Maestri, Holly Greenwood, Joshua Yeldham, Laura Jones, Leila Jeffries, Lucy Culliton, Luke Sciberras, Nicholas Harding, Robert Malherbe and Yvette Coppersmith.
  • Our sponsors Voyager Estate, Virgin Australia, Mr Cook, International Art Services, Deutscher and Hackett, Novotel and Young Henrys without you the night wouldn’t be possible.
  • To my team, especially Event Producer Nicci Gow, and all my staff and other volunteers.
Last but, certainly not least, to everyone who purchased raffles, tea towels and artworks – thank you for your generosity and for helping us to transform lives through music therapy.

Thank you again

Belinda Leonard
CEO
