Thank you Dry July for enabling us to make a difference to the lives of cancer patients.
We are grateful for the support of the Dry July Foundation for enabling us to deliver a music therapy program two afternoons a week at Concord Repatriation General Hospital (CRGH) in two wards: Concord Centre for Palliative Care (CCPC) and 5 East (5E) a mixed ward of Palliative, Haematology and Oncology.
A range of music therapy programs were offered to patients in CCPC and 5E. Many patients engaged in numerous sessions in the course of their admission, some over several admissions. Patients engaged in different types of sessions on different days depending how they were coping with the physical and emotional elements of their illness, treatment and prognosis on the day.
The program had a positive impact on not only the patients, but their family, carers and the hospital staff as well.
We sincerely thank Dry July for their generous support of this program and look forward to our continued relationship in providing music therapy for those who are experiencing the journey that is a cancer diagnosis.
